Carpenter Hotel: a bridge between the city and the outdoors. In a pecan grove at the edge of Zilker Park. Serving an all day menu that puts New Eyes on Old Texas. Inspired by lazy days by the water with a book in hand. United Sisterhood and Brotherhood. These are the sentiments we conveyed through copy, photography, events, and illustration.

From capturing the property’s full scope to the details of a room, a tour of menus in several outlets, or the feel of a party in the Q Hut and all the way to styled retail shoots, the mission always hews to what makes it the Carpenter Hotel: an easy going sense of place. WeI’ve worked with incredible photographers to capture just that. Below is some of the work created with Jade Skye Hammer, Andrea Calo, Jess Attie, Chad Wadsworth, and Bethany Ochs.

HOLIDAY HAPPENING
Concept + Naming / Event Production / Marketing / Photography
4 years of kicking off the season in the Q-Hut with a celebration of the lighting of the Zilker Holiday Tree - a short walk down the road in Zilker Park. The spirit of Carpenter Hotel was born out of it’s proximity to the park, in the winter that means joining in the 50 years of dressing up a Moontower as a gigantic tree and having a very special kiddo light it up on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
Holiday Happening calls back to Zilker by programming the earlier hours of the day with easy fun that is accessible to all. A vendor market that leans interactive, hand drawn portraits (for 3 years with artists from Sage Studio including Sam Eiler and Rick Fleming), tunes from our pal Honky Tonk Amnesia, s’mores, and boozy hot chocolate to take on your walk to the tree when it’s all done. The first year we even had a “Leftover Cranberry Sauce Cook Off”, a special day indeed.
The art each year is an interpretation of the Zilker Holiday tree by a new artist, in order: Lindsay Star, Becca Furhman, Jordan Swartz, and Carter Watkins.

DO YOU FEEL IT?
A HEALTH AND WELLNESS SERIES AT CARPENTER HOTEL
Concept + Naming / Event Production / Marketing / Photography
Something changes when you cross the river- it gets a little sweatier. We took that sentiment and ran with it, swam with it, stretched with it, sound-bathed with it, and are ready to do more with it. “Do You Feel It?” is an umbrella name for a flexible set of events that can happen “every Monday this fall” as they did in 2021, or on an as-desired basis, as we desired in the hot hot summer of 2022 with Aquafit in the pool. Partners included Loop Run Club, ATXYogaGirl, Castle Hill Fitness, and Yoga with Gustavo.
This series speaks to the brand narrative of the hotel, which veers lackadaisical stoner, works with our local community of health and wellness providers, speaks to our sense of place (proximity to the hike and bike trail, park, South Austin hippie-dom), all while encouraging folks to come to the property with friends and have a post workout beer and schnitzel. Sounds good to me!

CARPENTER BBQ AND POOL PARTY
Concept + Naming / Project Management / Marketing / Photography
A summer party turned series that hearkens back to the Carpenters Union Local No 1226 of yore. While they used to kick start political campaigns around plates stacked high, we gather round the pool to listen to live local music monthly. Of course, with Carpenters Hall on-site, the plates are still stacked high. Sometimes we even 2 step in the pool.
