KOOP Radio (91.7 on the dial!) is a co-operatively run radio station deep in the heart of Texas. Pronounced “KOH-OPP”, like co-op- get it? It’s a diverse group of music lovers, news producers, and community organizers and while I was helping out - it was my job to distill all of that into visuals and copy for social media. This was an exercise in making do when you’ve got a lot of heart but not a lot of content and I found a rhythm in archival images, video recordings, and plain old text collaged together to feel as vibrant as the programming. Below, a selection of creative content and accompanying show art for a favorite program: Salsa Indestructible(RIP), a playlist to get in the groove.

Pandemic Radio
With a daily rotating schedule of DJs trying to figure out home-recorded programming, we had to find a dynamic way to share our lineup every morning.
I used this chance to explore gradient illustration, making a new design every day in communication with the ephemera of our shut down experience.
After a while, we wondered what was happening outside of our 4 walls and began to explore scenes from the world we missed, places the radio could take us.
